1. 꿈을 가지고 있다
성공하는 남자는 어렸을때 가졌던 꿈을 늘 지키려고 노력합니다.
‘동심’의 순수함을 잃지 않으려고 하는 거죠.
일이 잘될 때나 못될 때나 그 꿈을 포기하지 않습니다.
도쿄에서 조금 떨어진 지방에서 유아교육관련 기업을 운영하는 사장이 있는데,
이 사람의 꿈은 고향인 그곳에 문화시설을 많이 설치하는 것이었습니다.
그의 꾸준한 노력 탓에 그 지역은 점차 교육을 중심으로 한 문화타운이 되었답니다.
2. 얼굴에 자신감이 넘친다
성공하는 남자는 늘 자신감에 가득 차 있습니다.
그렇기 때문에 쉽게 화를 내지도 않고 어떤 상황도 의연하게 받아들일 수 있는 거죠.
사소한 일에 곧장 고함을 지르는 사람은
언제나 다른 사람에게서 큰 소리로 핀잔을 듣는 사라이라고 생각하면 됩니다.
3. 어린아이 같은 표정을 갖고 있다
성공하는 남자는 가끔 어리광부리는 아이 같은 표정을 지어 주위 사람들을 사로잡아 버리곤 합니다.
무서움을 모르는 순수한 어린아이의 마음, 천진한 눈동자를 가진 남자를 주목해보세요.
그 사람이 무언가를 열심히 말하고 있는 모습을 보면
겉모습은 어른이지만 순수한 아이의 마음이 엿보여 기분이 좋아지곤 합니다.
4. 가정을 소중히 여긴다
성공하는 사람일수록 성실하다고 말할 수 있습니다.
가정이나 가족을 소중히 여기지 않는 사람은 어딘지 모르게 마음이 들떠있어 신뢰하기 힘듭니다.
5. 사전에 미리 준비한다
중요한 사람을 만나야 한다면 사전에 미리 준비하는 계획성을 가져야 합니다.
식당이라면 미리 가서 식사를 해보고,
지배인에게 ‘언제쯤 다시 올 것이니 잘 부탁한다’는 인사를 남겨두는 철두철미함도 필요합니다.
그 정도 준비했다면 그 날의 미팅이 성공적이라는 건 안 봐도 알 수 있겠죠?
6. 돈을 어디다 써야할지 잘 판단한다
단순히 과시하기 위해 돈을 쓰지 않습니다.
돈의 용도를 확실하게 구분해 쓰는 사람과 자신에 대해서는 투자하는 데
돈을 아끼지 않는 사람이라면 성공의 가능성을 점쳐 볼 수 있습니다.
7. 끝까지 최선을 다한다
한두번 실패를 통해 자신의 단점을 알게되면 이것을 극복해 더욱 강한 사람으로 변신합니다.
장애를 극복하고 성공에 이른 사람들에게서는 반드시 ‘헝그리 정신’을 찾을 수 있습니다.
내일을 위해 오늘을 열심히 살고, 지금부터라고 결정했다면
조금도 미루지 않고 그 자리에서 행동으로 옮기는 사람이 성공하는 사람입니다.
8. 남자를 반하게 만든다
성공하는 남자들 중에는 같은 남자들이 반할 만한 사람들이 많습니다.
저 사람을 위해서라면 몸을 불사를 정도로 열심히 일하고
희생까지도 하겠다는 생각을 품게 만드는 사람이죠.
이렇게 되기 위해서는 상대방의 아픔을 나의 아픔으로 받아들이며,
그 상처를 쓰다듬어줄 줄 아는 사람이 되어야 합니다.
9. 거짓말 하지 않는다
하고 싶지 않을 때나 말할 수 없을 때에는 ‘지금은 말할 수 없습니다’라고 말하는 것이 낫습니다.
말을 하게 될 때에는 반드시 약속을 지켜야 하죠.
타인에게도 자신에게도 거짓을 말해서는 안됩니다.
10. 아랫 사람에게도 배운다
능력 있는 상사라면 부하직원들의 잠재 능력을 이끌어내 발휘할 수 있게 해야 합니다.
그리고 부하에게서도 배우겠다는 열린 마음을 지녀야 합니다.
실제로 이런 남자가 최후에 사람을 손에 넣고 이끌 수 있는 것입니다.

“To The Pure All Things Are Pure”
Titus 1:15,16
Who said, “To the pure all things are pure”? And what does that mean? Some people would like it to mean that one can engage in some sort of less than pure entertainment and not be adversely effected by it. For example, this statement has been used by some to say that they could use pornography and their own “purity” (?) would make their pastime pure. They suggest that the only way one could be adversely effected by such is to have had a filthy heart to begin with.
Actually, the above words are Scripture, written by the Lord’s apostle, Paul. He said, “To the pure, all things are pure. But to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but both their mind and their conscience are defiled. They profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient, and worthless for any good deed.” (Titus 1:15,16).
So, what does it mean? Does it mean that if I am pure in heart, that everything I do will be rendered automatically pure? Does it mean that a person’s lust, greed, immorality, cursing, cheating and lying are all “pure” if the person committing them is pure within? I think that any rational, thinking person dedicated to pleasing the Lord knows better than that; so then, what does the statement mean? It is Scripture, and therefore it is true.
Historical Context
“For there are many rebellious men, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, who must be silenced because they are upsetting whole families, teaching things they should not teach, for the sake of sordid gain.” (Titus 1:10,11).
Paul’s statement “To the pure all things are pure” must be taken in the context of the problem at hand. There were false teachers “teaching things they should no teach.” From this epistle, and others, we know exactly what they were teaching.
Paul was dealing with rebellious men of Jewish backgrounds who were trying to bind portions of the Old Law on new Gentile converts. Among these laws were the dietary restrictions that divided meat into two groups, “clean” and “unclean”. Under the Old Law, this had pictured for God’s chosen people, the Jews, the concept of how they must maintain a separateness from the world and its sin. Today, while we are no longer required by the New Covenant of Christ to keep these Old Covenant dietary regulations, we are still commanded to keep ourselves separate from the sins of the world (2 Corinthians 6:14-18; 1 John 3:3-5).
The false teachers were saying that some meat continued to be impure. Paul says, in this context, that “To the pure all things are pure.” He was talking about food, not that we could mix with sin and still maintain our purity (cf. 1 Timothy 4:1-5; Colossians 2:16-17). To even attempt to apply this statement to impure or immoral behavior is a gross misapplication of the Scripture. According to the context, by the grace of God, we are to leave behind those things which are not in harmony with His will (Titus 2:11-15; 3:3-7).
Those To Whom Nothing Is Pure
“…but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure. Both their mind and conscience are defiled.” (Titus 1:15b).
Under the Old Law, if one who was ceremonially pure came into contact with an unclean thing, he or she would become unclean. These ceremonial cleanliness/uncleanness rules did not necessarily mean an unclean person had sinned. For example, touching a dead body was not a sin, but it would render one unclean for a time. Again, these laws were shadows illustrating the spiritual principle that God’s people must always keep themselves separate from sin. This principle remains true today even though we are no longer under the ceremonial law of Moses that illustrated it.
Haggai once used this ceremonial law to illustrate how all of God’s laws work (Haggai 2:11-14). When we touch what is morally unclean, we become unclean ourselves. If we disobey God’s moral laws and then think that because we do some good deed that it will render us morally clean we are wrong. So many people think that is how it works; that one may disobey God’s moral laws and still be right with God because of some contribution to a charity or something. But that is not how or why we are right with God. We are not, in this sense, justified by works (Titus 3:5; Ephesians 2:8-10). On the contrary, doers of good deeds, like Cornelius, must be saved by God’s grace by fearing God and doing what is right (Acts 10:1,2; 34-35). All of us need to do what Cornelius did; obey the gospel of grace (Acts 10:48; 11:14). Without this obedience of faith, we are lost. Nothing but the blood of Christ can take away our sins. Many immoral persons attempt to salve their conscience by joining some good deed crusade while continuing to live in sin. It will not purify them.
The Deeds Prove The Lie
“They profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient, and worthless for any good deed.” (Titus 1:16).
Its rather easy to talk about God. The Phrase “Thank God!” is probably uttered several million times across our nation each day. What a grateful, God-fearing nation we must be!
And we notice how at the Academy Awards so many thanked God for their award. But the fact of the matter is, while one may verbally use the name of God, this does not mean they really know Him. In fact, it is a false claim to say one “knows God” if they are disobedient to His word by their deeds. John, inspired by the Holy Spirit, also had much to say about this (1 John 1:6; 2:4-6).
The text says those who say nice things about God but will not submit to Him are “detestable” , “disobedient” and worthless for any good deed”. That’s pretty strong stuff, isn’t it? “Worthless” for any good deed ?
Think of the Hollywood extravaganza. All the big celebrities are there. Many of them sport tiny red ribbons for AIDS awareness. That’s a good deed, isn’t it? I am sure that it is, but it doesn’t accomplish a whole lot. Could more be done that would actually help the problem? You bet! But it will take a lot of courage. Far better would be to, first, get one’s own life in spiritual and moral order; and then to encourage others to do the same. If everyone did so, AIDS would be gone in a generation or so. How many generations will it take to defeat AIDS by wearing red ribbons?
But that isn’t likely to happen. Shame on me for even mentioning it. Not many would be willing to give up their immoral and unrighteous behavior (1 Corinthians 6:9-10) to defeat AIDS. But, they would be willing to wear the red ribbon. Many profess to know God, but deny Him by their deeds.
The Pure in Christ
“…in all things, show yourself to be an example of good deeds, with purity in doctrine dignified.” (Titus 2:7).
Contrasted with the above, the godly man or woman teaches the truth, and then also dignifies it with righteous living (cf. 1 Timothy 4:12). It is with good deeds that we adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in every respect.” (Titus 2:10). The proof is in the doing.
It is because of the hope we have in Christ that we are motivated to take such a stand even if it is presently unpopular. “And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.” (1 John 3:3). We are indeed grateful for the good things with which God has blessed us. “To the pure, all things are pure.”
